One issue which is confusing to our customers when they are placing an order for an engine repair, is the different types of connecting rods and rod bearings of the Cummins 6B series. While the connecting rod 4943979 has a 3969562 rod bearing and a 4893693 rod bearing, the connecting rod 3901569 has two 3969562 rod bearings. In the first one, the flanges of the rod bearing touch because they are on opposite sides, and in the second one, the flanges do not touch because they are placed on the same side of the rod bearing. Therefore, when making a repair, you should bear in mind the fact that you will need to order three times as many 3969562 rod bearings as the 4893693 ones.
